Will it hurt during the treatment?
Modern anesthesia completely "shuts off" any pain sensations. In fact, root canal treatment is a procedure that removes pain, not creates it. You will be comfortable throughout your entire visit.
Why do I need root canal treatment if nothing hurts?
Very often, chronic inflammation at the root apex (which is visible on X-rays) is painless but acts as a "silent destroyer." The infection inside the tooth slowly destroys the surrounding bone. Ignoring this will inevitably lead to an acute flare-up, swelling, or even tooth loss. Retreatment is a chance to stop this process and save the tooth.

Root canals are a microscopic system with numerous ramifications invisible to the naked eye. The microscope provides the doctor with high magnification and bright light, allowing them to:

Is it mandatory to cover a tooth with a crown after root canal treatment?
Yes, in the vast majority of cases, especially for back teeth. After the nerve and some tissue are removed, the tooth becomes more brittle. The crown acts as a protective helmet, evenly distributing the chewing load and protecting the tooth from fracture. This is the best investment in its longevity.
How long does it take for the inflammation at the root apex to heal?
Symptoms (pain, swelling) disappear very quickly. However, the regeneration of bone tissue destroyed by the infection is a slow process. We may see the first signs of healing on an X-ray image after 6–12 months. Full recovery can take up to 2 years. We monitor this process during scheduled check-ups.
