What is the warranty period for a dental crown? How often does it need replacement?
The average lifespan of a modern ceramic crown is 10–15 years or more. Longevity depends on the quality of the material and your dental hygiene. Replacement is only needed in case of damage or if the condition of the surrounding gums changes over time.
Will I have a visible gap while waiting for the permanent crown?
No, absolutely not. During the same visit when the doctor prepares the tooth, they will place an aesthetic temporary crown for you. It protects the treated tooth, allows you to eat normally, and feel confident while your permanent restoration is being fabricated in the lab.
Are there any restrictions on using the permanent crown?
Modern crowns are very strong and fully restore chewing function. You will be able to eat your usual food. The only limitation is the same as for natural teeth: you should not crack nutshells, open bottles, or bite overly hard objects.
Will the tooth be heavily filed down for the prosthetic restoration?
The doctor performs tooth preparation (shaping) to create the necessary space for the crown—usually 1.5–2 mm. Our goal is to preserve a maximum of healthy tissue. Working under high magnification guarantees that tooth preparation is performed with maximum precision, being strictly limited to the minimal extent necessary for reliable restoration bonding.
