How do aligners differ from braces?
The main difference lies in the principle of action and comfort. Braces are a non-removable system fixed to the teeth. Aligners are a set of clear, removable trays that you change yourself every 2 weeks. They are invisible, do not traumatize the mucous membrane, and allow you to clean your teeth without restrictions.
How many hours per day do I need to wear aligners?
To achieve the planned result, aligners must be worn 20–22 hours a day. They only work when they are on the teeth, creating constant, gentle pressure. Failure to adhere to this rule can significantly slow down or halt the treatment process.
Are aligners visible on the teeth?
No, they are virtually invisible. Aligners are made of thin, transparent medical polymer and fit tightly to the teeth. Others will only notice them if they know where to look and are very close to you.
Can I remove aligners while eating?
Yes, it is not only recommended but mandatory to remove them during every meal and when consuming any liquid other than plain water. This protects the trays from physical damage and staining and allows you to fully maintain oral hygiene after eating.
